I've done two blocks for the bird/birdhouse swap on CQ4N. They're very different, but I like them both. The first was done with some print fabric given to me by Marianne H. to set the color scheme. Thanks again Marianne! The house is done in velvet and appliqued on, with a piece of brocade ribbon for the post. The red flowers are done in cast-on stitch, so they're slightly 3D.
This one has a center fan blade of tiny love birds, which is all the bird fabric I had other than owls (of which I have at least 3 different prints) and chickens, until Marianne shared with me. The lace is hand dyed by me using Kool Aid. The cast-on stitch flowers in the handle are done in a Sassa Lynn variegated thread.

Thanks for sharing what you've been up to.... you always have anew concept... the birdhouse is great. I love the MOON flowers from last post.. are they a perrenial in CO? Do you have to dig them up or do they winter over with no care ?? Take care for now, Janet

Hey, girl, thanks for the response on my comment. I was just letting that scroll through the blogs and came across yours, which intrigued me! As it turns, my mom is a quilter and she is working on an original quilt that is her design right now. It is out of Crown Royal bags and she has added a few of her own personal touches to it. It will be a surprise for a lady's niece for Christmas. Mom is so good at knitting; I, on the other hand never was too good at that but I think I could really get into the quilting. Keep up the great work!
